Had cause to visit a very dear close friend today, His 47th Birthday. He is in a retirement/medical home due to a very severe stroke late last year, absolute tragedy. Without being medically astute I would venture a guess that He now functions at less than 5% of His normal persona.
I have shared clothes food beer lodgings money and even women with this Guy, it's hard to see Him in his current plight as we were once thicker than thieves together.
So..had been sat there maybe an hour and I was convinced that he knew I was in company with him. He was trying to talk to me!
Medical staff had a radio running in the background on a local station, was good listening tbh, commercial break then they threw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYH8DsU2WCk out to the audience..

..out of His wheelchair and giving it Large, the Guy could still dance. /tears.

Wifey was playing the Tracy Chapman ~ Tracy Chapman album last night, hadn`t listened to it for a good few years and was pleasantly surprised at just how good it still sounded, reading the album cover I was then amazed to see that it dates back to 1988..where do the years go ?
Paul Simon's Gracelands is of this moment enlivening my sitting room like a national Guitar, great sounds great times. |
